Parking with ParkUnload App

Setting Up the ParkUnload App

  1. Download the ParkUnload App.Get it on Google Play. Download on the Apple App Store.
  2. Open the app and register using your mobile phone number to receive a code via SMS.
  3. Once you received the code, you can go ahead and register your vehicle information (e.g., license plate number, make, and model).
    • If you don’t feel comfortable including your vehicle information, you can provide dummy data.
    • You can enter additional vehicles if you have more than one vehicle that will park in the parking spaces included in the study.

Park and Check-In

  1. Once you have parked in one of the spaces (marked with green paint), open the ParkUnload App. Bluetooth needs to be enabled for the App to work.
  2. The App automatically detects where you are and allows you to check-in to the parking space by clicking the “start parking” button in the App.
  3. Please follow the steps on the App because we are testing both short and long term parking needs at different facilities.

Check-Out and Exit

  1. When you leave, open the ParkUnload App and check-out by clicking the ”stop parking” button in the app. This will let other drivers know that the parking space has become available.

How it works

Smart Parking App with Bluetooth

  • The parking spaces are equipped with a Bluetooth device.
  • This Bluetooth device communicates with the ParkUnload App when the truck driver’s phone is in close proximity.
  • Once the App detects the marked parking zone, the truck driver is able to check-in to the parking space.
  • This information about used parking space is updated on the App and other truck drivers are able to see information on remaining available spaces.
