The Texas A&M Transportation Institute (TTI), the University of Wisconsin at Madison, and ParkUnload are testing the benefits of a new technology to help all truck drivers that have downloaded the ParkUnload app identify where and how many truck parking spaces are available at different truck parking facilities. The technology is tested at selected truck parking facilities along I-80 in Iowa and along I-39/90/94 in Wisconsin.  Use the above map to locate and navigate to a test parking space.

Why are the truck parking spaces green?

Only the parking spaces that are painted green are included in the test (see below).  When arriving at one of these green parking spaces, we need you to park and use the ParkUnload App to check in. This will allow us to collect actual, on-the-ground information that can help us understand the benefits and challenges with using an app, but also help us plan for and invest in more truck parking and services. Don’t forget to check out when you leave so other truck drivers will know that the parking space has become available.
